Please see Paeonia morisii According to Hong D Y, Paeonia morisii schould be treated as P corsica. We do not agree with this statement any more . P morisii grows on Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica and a few western Greeck islands and is same as P mascula ssp. russoi. We agree that P corsica is endemic to Corsica and it has too many different characteristics. P corsica is tetraploid and has smaller flowers than P morisii, which is diploid, and it has more devided foliage.

Both P morisii and P corsica grow on Corsica .
