Former Paeonia humilis, the smallest herbaceous peony, a wonderful dwarf Peony very closely related to the ssp hutii. As the other members of the P officinalis family very hard to get the true species .  Many times intermixed and many times exchanged by confusion of the true species. For instance ssp microcarpa for ssp. hutii and ssp officinalis for ssp hutii. Eastern Pyrenees origin.
